Asteroid Dodger is an intense arcade space survival game created in under 12 hours as a game development challenge!

🎯 Your Mission

Pilot your spacecraft through an endless asteroid field. Collect coins, grab power-ups, and survive as long as possible! Each stage gets progressively harder with faster asteroids and more chaos.

🕹️ How to Play

Goal: Survive each 30-second stage without getting hit by asteroids. Collect coins to unlock upgrades and beat all 5 stages to unlock Infinite Mode!

🎮 Controls

Arrow Keys	Move your ship in any direction
SPACE	Dash (invincible for 0.15s, 0.5s cooldown)
ESC	Pause menu

💎 Power-Ups

• 🛡️ Magenta Shield - 3 seconds of invincibility + 10 bonus points
• ⏱️ Cyan Clock - Slows down time for 4 seconds (RARE!)
• 🪙 Gold Coins - Collect to buy permanent upgrades in the shop

🏆 Game Modes

Story Mode: Beat 5 increasingly difficult stages (30 seconds each)
Infinite Mode: Unlock after beating all stages - survive as long as you can!

⚙️ Development

This game was created as a personal challenge to build a complete, polished game in under 12 hours using Godot Engine 4.5.1 Every system was built from scratch including the particle effects, collision detection, save system, and UI.

Sound Effects: All SFX were procedurally generated using jsfxr. Music: Atmospheric space track composed by Milkio124. Check out their work on Instagram.

🎨 Art Style

Minimalist geometric shapes with vibrant neon colors and dynamic particle effects create a modern arcade aesthetic. The ship rotates smoothly to face your movement direction for satisfying control feedback. All visuals were created directly within the Godot Engine using built-in tools - no external art programs were used! This demonstrates the power of procedural design and creative use of basic shapes.
